Machete Theme Help

Hello, I currently have the Machete theme installed on my forums.

I'd like to make the width a bit bigger, but when going to global.css changing the width from 100% to something else only changes the links at the bottom to a different width. But it doesn't change the overall theme.

Can anyone help? I'd like to make the width of the machete theme bigger.
